Steampunk 7: Military Wife

(Before you scream sexism, yes, there will be a female soldier design as well)

I must say, although I am a pacifist, I really love military uniforms. I think they are beautiful, and my appreciation of them has nothing to do with the connotations of violence that are attached to them. In steampunk universes, the military is extremely important and a military aesthetic pervades the style. In particular, I have seen a lot of women on the fashion comms on LJ talking about portraying the wife of a military man. The historical precedent of militaristic elements in victorian women's garb was my inspiration for this one.
